This is Wrye's site, it contains a number of useful things, including Wrye Bash, Common Oblivion, and several mods that use Common Oblivion. Ufrealms apparently went down, permantntly. I will get around to fixing them but not now. This is a new link, links to Wyre's old site (for things such as Real Hunger) will be broken. To turn off lock times, right click on the "File" tab, just above your list of mods. BOSS will not work if the "lock times" feature in wrye bash is turned on. BOSS is a simple program that automatically sets your load order, but it may not recognize ALL of your mods, and for those, you need to order using Wrye Bash. This is BOSS (Better Oblivion Sorting Software). This is a thread about compatibility, it's a must read before you get into mods. Get an Account here, it is where you will get help when you're having problems, where you can help other's, and where you can check out release and work in progress threads. This is the Bethesda Game studio's Forums.

You may want to try doing a quick mod for youself sometime.
#Oblivion character overhaul mod list update#
Even if you don't plan on doing any serious modding, you should download it, so you can customize some mods that don't offer other ways to customize them, so you can do a quick update for some mods to lend compatibility (like with C&C and Reneers training mod) and so you have it. From here, you can download the Elder Scrolls Construction set, the software you use to make mods, and read tutorials on it's use. This is the Elder scrolls construction set Wiki. I have tested them, and found no problems, but found that they add something (or a lot) to gameplay. That ruins all of the fun of the game.Īll of the mods I list here are of the highest quality. If you ever see a spoilers section in a readme, DON'T READ IT!! Trust me. Then you stumble into their content, and it's even more fun.

Some mods are best to just install and forget about. Some use 5, and a very fuew actually play with a timescale of 1, which is equivalent to real time. If not, open up the console (note at bottom of page) and type: If you have cobl, it's easy to just do it through the cobl options menu. It may be okay to play with that in vanilla oblivion, but if you play with any eat, drink, or sleep mods, to keep them from being an annoyance you'll need to change your timescale. default oblivion's timescale is set to 30, which is insanely fast. Uninstalling Oblivion will not hurt you save files, they will be safe in their folder, it will not get deleted. After that, install all of the needed resources, found below, and begin re-installing your mods. To install it, you uninstall and reinstall Oblivion, then install the patch (it's a handy auto installer). If you have Shivering Isles, you will only use the SI version, if not, then you use the other version. To minimize problems with mods, and to be able to use OBSE, and to solve some MAJOR bugs in vanilla Oblivion, you need to update Oblivion with the latest Official Patch. I have tried to mark all mods that require OBSE, but I may have missed a couple. Some mods have weird installation instructions, and even once you're used to the usual installation, don't fall into this trap. Once you're used to using Wrye Bash, and working with your load order, and understand compatibility a little more, THEN you can try an overhaul.ĪLWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, READ THE README. You have to manage your mods, and overhauls are much harder to manage than other, lighter weight mods. Most people don't play Oblivion very long before starting with mods, and then are not used to the difficulty of playing with an overhaul. This will still serve as a good guide though.įirst, before you start with mods, read this.Įven though I'm going to recommend an overhaul, don't start your modding experience with one. I no longer have time, or even get enjoyment out of video games. More recent update: This is essentially as is now. Mind you, I will still add mods to this list as I find and test them. This list may now go out of date, because I've been banned from the official forums, and without them, it's basically impossible to keep up a list.
